Pendeen Lightouse
Cornwall is a rocky peninsula with dangerous waters, so it has several lighthouses. Most are hard to reach by foot or only accessible by sea or air because they’re on small islands. One exception is Pendeen Lighthouse, which is easy to visit and a popular spot for photographers and visitors. It was first lit in 1900 but is now fully automated.
It sits within a compound just outside of St Ives, surrounded by rugged a coastline. Generally, you cannot gain direct access to the lighthouse itself, as it is now a private holiday let and securely gated. The original cottages for the keepers now being home to tourists. However, there are still a few nearby spots where you can enjoy a stunning and unobstructed view of this iconic landmark.

If you visit, there is parking immediately outside allowing you literally drive up to the gates. If you do, don’t forget to explore the surrounding cliffs. Boat Cove is a 10 minute walk to the east and to the west is one of the best coastal views ( in my opinion ) that Cornwall has to offer!
The view to the west with Geevor Tin Mine in the distance.
