      Pendeen Lightouse
Cornwall is a rocky peninsula with dangerous waters, so it has several lighthouses. Most are hard to reach by foot or only accessible by sea or air because they’re on small islands. One exception is Pendeen Lighthouse, which is easy to visit and a popular spot for photographers and visitors. It was first lit in 1900 but is now fully automated.

      Perranporth Spring Tide September 2025
Perranporth is one of Cornwall’s biggest and most popular beaches, well-loved by locals and visitors alike. At low tide, it reveals three miles of golden sand, beautifully split in two by the shallow Perrncoombe Stream that gently winds its way across the shore. During the summer months, the beach is packed with holidaymakers, who spread out across the sand, creating a vibrant sea of colourful umbrellas, towels, and windbreaks. However, during a high spring tide, the beach vanishes completely.

      Boat Cove and Portheras Cove
Boat Cove and Portheras Cove sit side by side just to the west of Pendeen Lighthouse, offering a peaceful and picturesque spot along the rugged Cornish coast. I have to admit I hadn’t heard of either cove until this week, but after being kindly asked to try and capture some photos there, I decided to take a walk down and explore the area for myself.
